TEACHING TIPS

About the Unit

In this unit, the students mostly work on their own in groups, without much instructor input. We recommend to set a timer for each activity and walk from group to group to answer questions and track the progress.

(1) Depending on their preferences have students also come up with Vorteile/Nachteile respectively.

Aktivität 138 Tapetenwechsel

(1) und (2) mögliche Zusatzfragen: “Was ist Ihre Lieblingsfarbe? Soll Ihr Zimmer diese Farbe haben? Welche Farben passen gut/nicht zusammen? Welche Farbe hat das Klassenzimmer? Soll es anders sein? Kennen Sie Häuser mit besonders auffälligen Farben? Beschreiben Sie es!”

In addition pre-select some suburbian streets on google street view in the German speaking countries and in the US. Ask about differences (colors, styles, landscaping etc.)

Aktivität 139 Das Smarthome

Additional questions if time allows (plan in enough time for 140!): “Brauchen Sie das wirklich? Was kann schief gehen? Was sind Risiken (Datenschutz und Hacker)?” Have students divide the functions in useful/less useful. Let them think of additional functions.

Aktivität 140 Präsentation

As always in this type of activity keep everyone involved by asking questions back. You can also call on students and have them try to remember as much as possible from the student/group presenting.
