Aktivität 33: Patricks Stammbaum

Students may still need support with possessive pronouns. You could project the Grammatik box from page 19 to a wall/scree, but don’t explain grammar, model it (students read about and practices it in LERNEN). Make sure students are familiar with a family tree and understand how to interpret it. Students ask and answer questions about Patrick and at least one other person. Students who finish quickly can choose a new person to ask questions about.

Aktivität 34: Er hat

Read the example and point out einen for masculine nouns in the accusative case. Resist the urge to go into an in-depth explanation (students did their LERNEN homework!). You can put a few simple examples on the board for students to refer to. Have students speak with a partner and then write. Give them a guideline of how many sentences they should write.

Aktivität 35: Wichtige Personen in Ihrem Leben

Students choose a format to talk about their families/the important people in their lives. Give them a guideline of how many people they should include, e.g. 7-10. Have students write descriptions of these people, following the model. Students then present in pairs, small groups, or in front of the whole class. Students should speak freely and not read.
