About the Unit

Aktivität 25: Ihr typischer Arbeitsplatz im Job

You can point students to the previous page for vocabulary words. Students can debrief the activity in pairs, small groups, or as a whole class.

Aktivität 26: Ausflug

You can project a map of the DACH countries. Give students an example - this could be local or in the DACH countries. Complete the example on the board.



1) Students choose 4 journeys.

2) Students find the distances between the cities.

3) Students analyze the longest and shortest distances and compare with their classmates.

You can then determine as a class the longest and shortest distances from the whole class’s examples.

Aktivität 27: Der Kurs: Interviewen, Analysieren, Visualisieren, Präsentieren

You can quickly divide the class by giving each student a number from 1-4. Students with 1 belong to group 1, etc.

For time management, you can give each group a time limit (to ensure all activities for this unit can be finished), and project with an online timer.

After each group’s turn gathering data, allow for class time for students to compile and create a graphic representation of the data. You may choose to bring markers and large posters or poster-size sticky notes for students to use.

Aktivität 28: Small-Talk

This activity is designed to create community among the German language learners and to encourage them to speak and practice German with one another outside of class. Allow them time in class to determine who/when/where. If students prefer to meet in groups, they must speak for a longer period of time, at your discretion. You can also ask students to continue beyond 3 minutes and provide an incentive.
