About the Unit
Aktivität 15: Zahlen
Students listen and repeat the numbers. Point out the Kulturpunkt and have student practice counting with their fingers, starting with the thumb. Have students complete the activities. Prior to sub-activity 4, point out that for numbers beyond 20, students can write down the number in the ones position prior to the tens, essentially writing the number from right to left, rather than left to right. This may be helpful to some as they get used to hearing the numbers “backwards.”
For example, for the number zweiundvierzig, students would first note the zwei and then add the four to the left of the number two to end up with 42.
Aktivität 16: Wie alt bist du?
Have students read the questions and answers, calculate their height in meters, and prepare all numbers they will need for the activity.
Aktivität 17: Drei Personen
Students use the information from the previous activity to interview 3 classmates. You can have students do this twice - once in the informal, once formal, but only if time allows.
Aktivität 18: Woher kommt das Auto?
You can point students to the tip for the activity and/or project a map found easily on google images, etc. Assist students with pronunciation as needed. Point out cultural differences between D-A-CH license plates and US license plates.
