You could ask students which abbreviations they recognize after finishing the activity.

Aktivität 11: Was hören Sie?

If you have time, have students pre-read all the words. Then, complete the activity.

Aktivität 12: Ich heiße A-L-E-X-A-N-D-E-R.

You can have students spell first, middle, and/or last names, if students already know one another’s names.

As a variation, you can also dictate culturally-relevant names, places, etc. to the whole class. Students could do this, too. As a game, the first person to guess correctly gets to spell something next.

Aktivität 13: Fragen Sie: Wie heißt sie?

Students practice dialogs with language used thus far. You can write pronouns on the board, including xier (students read about it in LERNEN) to be sure all students are represented in the activity.

Aktivität 14: Symbole und Formeln

You can model the dialogs. Then have students work together to ask and answer questions based on the tables. Circulate through the classroom to provide support, as needed.
